About

by @ 3:51 pm. Filed under Eww, i have to live with a *Boy*

Hi, I’m Elizabeth.
I started blogging while I was engaged to That Guy I Married so that no one would have to listen to or watch several Bridezilla Meltdowns. Then we got married and lived Happily Ever After ™ The End.

Ahem, where was I?

Formerly, I wrote for dink(y) – double income: no kids (yet), as a way to get over the shock from discovering that “Eew. I live with a boy!” I enrolled myself in my own at-home Cooking School, and have failed many classes at the Stepford Academy.

Then, one day, after lots and lots of heartache, I peed on a stick and it was time for our lives to change. We anxiously waited for our baby to arrive via FTP transfer. Our son, Ducky, finally arrived in a big darn hurry on October 3, 2008. Forty weeks is a long time. Next time, I’ll just order one from Amazon Prime.

We up and moved out of the ‘burbs so That Guy wouldn’t have to spend four hours a day in traffic. Now, he has four hours a day to do all of the thing’s I’ve been dreaming of, like: eat breakfast, exercise, go to bible study, walk the dog, and tuck me in at night. Please don’t laugh at my silly little dreams. Really. Stop laughing at me. You can’t change other people, you can only change yourself. I try not to use this blog as a place to nag That Guy, but sometimes, it happens. I love you Shnookums!

That Guy is a Super Geek, a Super Geek, he’s Super Geeky (is it stuck in your head yet?). We like to joke about stupid stuff like delivering babies via file transfer, and make up silly love songs about squirrels. We argue about who’s the bigger geek. HE IS. When we started dating, I had to train him not to subconsciously tap his fingers on my arm like a keyboard, see: GEEK. We always hold hands with our pinkies crossed the wrong way. The day we got married, we danced to “Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I’m sixty-four?” Lord, I hope so! We spent the next 6 months looking at each other incredulously, and saying “We got married!”

In the spirit of change, and time marching on, and all that: it was time for a new blog name. Hi, Welcome to bloggymommer.com. You’re still here? I still haven’t really found right-side-up. Or a job. Living in West Los Angeles isn’t for sissies. On top of that, I’m still making sense out of this whole motherhood thing, wanna come along for the ride?

I have a hard time talking about The Hard Stuff in public, with my name on it. Usually, I deal with T.H.S. by blogging anonymously somewhere else to help process how I feel. Here’s the basic rundown; eating disorders and body issues suck, being an ACoD sucks, not sleeping sucks, and PCOS sucks. A few years back, I was diagnosed with ‘Depression that manifests as Anxiety.’ Basically, that means I lose a lot of sleep over stupid things, and not-so-stupid things. It’s an uphill battle, and I’m working on it.

If you’d like to learn 100 things about me; take off your shoes and stay a while. Have a seat, but watch out for dog hair. The first thing you’ll learn is that it’s taken me years to come up with 100 Things. I’m easily annoyed. I watch too much Law & Order. I have the sense of humor of a 12-year-old. I’m too shy for my own good. I miss my best friend.

BloggymommerI despise Pink. But I like having pink hair; go figure? Pink is a High Maintenance Hair Color, and I don’t like to be high maintenance if I can help it. Also, I haven’t found a stylist in Los Angeles yet. Know anyone?

Twitter rocks, but I don’t like texting from a mobile phone, so Twitter makes me look kinda dull. My next phone is going to be a Jitterbug. Really. No, REALLY. I mean it this time.

I don’t like loud noises, beer breath, cigarette smoke, and eating at overpriced restaurants. I like In ‘n Out burgers, Pop Rocks, My Little Ponies, Roller Skates, Shrinky Dinks, and Otter Pops. Yes, some days, I am stuck in 1987.
